Hello world! First Post in Oodami

We did not want to delete this post as it indicates the spirit of starting something. When we first learn a new programming language Hello World is the first program for most of us. Welcome to Oodami. We did not want to miss this special date of February 29, 2008.
Who does not want to be involved with a projects like Youtube or Facebook? What is the next cool thing? There is no doubt that start ups based in India are not far behind. If one has to find the next cool thing, then its a no brainer that one has to keep track of what is happening around. This blog is dedicated to such start-ups based in India. Since profiling internet companies or products is easier, that would be our main focus. But we believe there are interesting developments in the traditional brick and mortar companies, which we would like to cover. Apart from those, we will also enjoy the ride with the readers to find the next cool thing on web or otherwise.
In Hindi ‘Udhyami’ means Entrepreneur. The wikipedia definition of an entrepreneur is some one who operates a new enterprise or venture and assumes some accountability for the inherent risks. We felt that there would be no better name than this. We tried some variations in ‘Udhyami’, before picking ‘Oodami’ as the name of our site.
